On July 7th, amidst great anticipation and attention from industry professionals, the unveiling ceremony of the Fluorine Application Research Institute, a subsidiary of Youfumi Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Youfumi Group”), was grandly held in the third-floor conference room of the Experts Building at the Youfumi Group’s Binhai factory in Wenzhou. This event marks a significant step forward for this national high-tech enterprise in the research and application of fluorine materials. The founding of this institute not only serves as a vital addition to Youfumi Group’s technological innovation strategy but also represents a crucial move toward promoting technological advancement and industry upgrades in China’s fluorine materials sector.

At the ceremony, Youfumi Group’s Chairman, Zhu Xiaoyou, delivered the opening speech. He emphasized, “The establishment of the Fluorine Application Research Institute is a milestone in Youfumi Group’s proactive response to the national strategy of innovation-driven development. It aims to address the industry’s ‘bottleneck’ technical challenges and realize the localization of high-end valve products. Following this, Shao Xiaoqing, the Executive Vice President of Youfumi Group, provided a detailed overview of the group’s development history, business areas, and achievements. She mentioned that since its inception, the group has upheld the spirit of “technological innovation and integrity,” focusing on the development of high-quality anti-corrosion product lines, securing a leading position in the domestic market. Moving forward, the group will continue to increase investment in research and development, promote industry-academia-research cooperation, and strive toward higher quality development goals.

The unveiling of the Fluorine Application Research Institute was the highlight of the ceremony. Simultaneously, a joint R&D center, co-founded by Youfumi Group and the Peking University Wenzhou Laser Center, was also inaugurated in the presence of attending guests. Additionally, the event included the formation of an expert committee and the issuance of appointment letters to committee members. Chairman Zhu Xiaoyou will serve as the committee chairman, leading a team of 8 renowned industry experts and scholars, including Professor Fu Xu, an expert with a State Council special allowance, Professor Song Yinli, President of the Pump and Valve Industry Technology Innovation Association, Dr. Shen Jiabin from Sichuan University, and Dr. Bao Yongzhong from Zhejiang University. The research institute’s core team consists of 23 high-level talents, including PhDs, senior engineers, and professors, establishing a robust foundation of expertise. Following the ceremony, several experts and scholars delivered captivating keynote speeches: “New Quality Productivity Leading the Healthy Development of the Pump and Valve Industry” by Song Yinli, “Current Status and Trends in Fluorine-lined Valves” by Fu Xu, “Properties and Applications of Melt-processable Fluoroplastics” by Bao Yongzhong, and “Design, Construction, and Application of Fluoropolymer Functional Films” by Shen Jiabin. Their insights not only showcased the current developments and latest research in the fluorine materials field but also provided valuable inspiration and ideas for the guests.
